We offer 12, 15, and 20 cubic yard dumpsters. At this time, we do not offer anything smaller, nor do we offer residential "push-carts"
We offer curb-side pick-up services and dumpster rentals by the hour. In some cases, we can offer the assistance of our employees and heavy equipment to help you load items. Please call for this service as they require special pricing and scheduling.
Our 20 yard dumpsters are about 6 feet tall, 8 feet wide, and 17 feet long. They hold a volume of 20 cubic yards or about 7 pick-up truck loads. The maximum weight of garbage must not exceed 14,000 pounds or 7 tons.
Yes, in addition to one trip to the landfill with the first 2 tons or 4,000 pounds included. The only other fees would be in the case of an overfilled dumpster, presence of prohibited items, or garbage weighing more than 2 tons or 4,000 pounds. If your garbage is heavier than 4,000 pounds, a fee of $0.0475 per pound over 4,000 pounds will be applied.
We care about the environment and respect the rules and regulations of the landfills! Prohibited items include any and all liquids (especially no paint), biohazard or hazardous waste, friable asbestos, hot ashes, batteries, animal waste or remains, electronic waste (computers, TV's, printers, keyboards), and any appliances containing Freon (refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners). Some items are accepted but at additional costs at different landfills. If you have any questions, please call or text us at (970)880-4042
Yes! We frequently deliver nearly anywhere in the Four Corners Area. Please be advised that travel fees do apply in some cases.
While Durango Trash Panda accepts no liability for damaged surfaces, we do go the extra mile in protecting your property. Our drivers are trained to make as little of an impact as possible and are also equipped with underlayment materials that prevent the dumpster from coming in contact with your driveway. When booking your dumpster, please make a note if your driveway is gravel, concrete, or asphalt so our drivers can be better prepared to protect it.
No, as long as the driver knows where to place the dumpster upon delivery. And no one is required to be present upon pick-up either. However, please ensure before pick-up that your dumpster is not over-filled and that the back door is shut and latched.
Generally speaking, a permit is required in most municipalities if the dumpster will be placed on a roadway, street, shoulder of a road, or other public/government property. The City of Durango does require a permit but other towns may not. It is the responsibility of the customer to secure a permit if needed. https://www.durangogov.org/683/Do-I-Need-a-Permit
Unless prior arrangements have been made, your dumpster will be delivered in the morning, usually between 8am and 10am. Dumpsters will typically be picked up between 10am and 1pm. However, predicting exact times may be difficult as our drivers are delivering, picking up, and emptying dumpsters all over South West Colorado and the Four Corners Area. Factors such as weather, traffic, construction, Ports of Entry, and wait times at the landfills frequently impact schedules.
Absolutely not. An over-filled dumpster not only poses a hazard to our drivers and equipment, but also to everyone else on the roadway once the dumpster is picked up. Colorado Traffic Law states that our open-top dumpsters must be covered with a tarp to ensure nothing blows out and onto the roadway. In order for us to tarp the dumpster, nothing may protrude past the upper lip or edge of the dumpster. If items do protrude past this, our driver may need to climb on top of the dumpster and re-stack or cut the items to fit. This is extremely dangerous for our employees and we care about their safety. If the driver deems this act too dangerous, they will not pick up your dumpster until it is loaded properly. Please be advised that additional fees will apply in this case. If you need another dumpster, we can usually get one to you on the same day for a discounted (swap-out) rate.
